Well, I just got my prize packs today. Yippee!
At Bryan's request, I shall refrain from mentioning all the foil mythics I opened... which was none

No mythics, but some decent rares, including a
Siege-Gang Commander, an A
nt Queen, a
Pithing Needle, and a
Planar Cleansing. And a
Lightning Bolt. And a foil
Jump. Woo-hoo, foil
Jump! Although in all honesty, for a card I will never, ever play with, the foil version looks really pretty! So don't worry Bryan, you didn't miss out on any Mythics.
As for my trivia questions, the answers are as follows:
Why are some German cards functionally different? For some reason a number of cards that say "target" in their English versions say "Wähle" or "choose" in German instead of "Ziel", meaning they technically don't target and can get around protection and shroud. I especially love the German Unlimited printing of
Lightning Bolt, which says "The Lightning does 3 damage to a creature or player." How quaint, almost as if there were different damage types. (although oddly enough, the Limited version has pretty much the modern templating. Well, except for not saying what it can target, it just says "the target of Lightning Bolt takes 3 damage. Yes, you could deal a land three damage. Then again, the English version says the same thing, so...).
As for the other question, what M10 rules change did Germans miss out on? Guess what? We still call it "Im Spiel" ("in play"). No "Auf den Schlachtfeld" for us! W00t!
Anyway, looking forward to the next episode!
